Self Defense Technique Biting

Biting

Biting is a powerful self defense technique that doesn’t require skill or power. You jaw muscles are some of the most powerful in your body and can inflict serious damage. It is not the best self defense move because it requires that you get close to your assailant but when used do serious harm.

When should you bite? I would only suggest biting if your assailant has a hold of you and you are not able to strike or gouge vulnerable areas.

Where should you bite? Anywhere you can. If you have the opportunity to bite more sensitive areas then do so but don’t waste valuable time thinking about it too much.

Biting technique: Again like scratching there is no specific technique. However, I would recommend that you commit fully to the bite and inflict as much pain as possible. Clamp on as if you are trying to rip the flesh from the bone and jerk your head. Once you’ve achieved your goal of breaking the grip of your assailant let go and begin to use more effective and powerful self defense moves like kicking them while down, groin strikes or breaking joints.

  3. Jesse,

nice blog. You’ve got some thorough posts. I agree there is some risk but as you mentioned the virus is killed by your digestive fluids unless you have broken skin. Additionally, in a life or death situation biting may be your only choice.

It’s up to each person to decide when and how far to take their self defense.
